Raad ny Foillan - Castletown to Port St. Mary

The Raad ny Foillan (English: Road of the Gull/Way of the Gull) is a 95 mile footpath created to celebrate the 1986 "Heritage Year" celebrations.
The route was formed by joining and signposting existing coastal footpaths with only a few brief inland diversions. The footpath can be broken down into managable sections and many scenic and historic sites can be found on and near the route.
Brief Description
This section is approximately 7 miles in length joining Castletown and Port St. Mary. Most of this route is at or near sea level taking in the Limestone outcrop, Scarlett Point and the Black Marble Quarry, Pooil Vaaish. Close to the route is Balladoole, an ancient fortified hill and burial ground offering extensive panoramic views.
