Point of Ayre is the most northerly place on the island. A wide shingle beach extends south to Ramsey and south west to Kirk Michael.

There is an unmanned lighthouse and a foghorn (seperated from the lighthouse) at the end of the land.

Access

The nearest point of road access is directly south, just north of the island's waste landfill site and there are parking facilities nearby. A minor road from Ayes Visitor Centre, approx 2 miles to the WSW, also gives access.

A limited bus service from Ramsey runs early morning & late afternoon on schooldays to the entrance of the landfill site leaving a walk of approximately 3/4 mile to the lighthouse.

Walks

The coastal path Raad ny Foillan (Way of the Gull) passes the Point of Ayre and walkers should note the tide tables if walking the shore from the Point to Ramsey as in some areas the cliffs are steep and there are limited areas for public access off the shore if high tides are particularly high.
