BCS (Isle of Man) is the local branch of The British Computer Society. The BCS is the leading professional body for those working in Information Technology with over 65,000 members in more than 100 countries. The BCS are the qualifying body for Chartered IT Professionals (CITP).

Brief Details

BCS (Isle of Man) was created on the 7th of July 2004 as an international section of the BCS on a par with other similar sections such as Belgium, Switzerland, Hong Kong, and the recently formed Jersey and Guernsey sections.

Events

Events and meetings are held each month from September to June at the Claremont Hotel on Loch Promenade in Douglas. There may also be impromptu social events in July and August.

Discussions and presentations are given by members and invited guests.

Events details are published on the BCS (Isle of Man) web site and in local media: events are normally open to non-members.
